Fasteners

Structural rivets are designed to be used in applications where a heavy load bearing fastener is needed.

With the advantage of higher tensile and shear strengths over traditional break stem rivets, structural rivets, often referred to as MONOBOLT® (a trade name of Avdel) or FARBOLT (a trade name of FAR) are the ideal fastener for use in industries including automotive, commercial vehicle body building and HVAC industries where strength of fixing is paramount.

Sizes are traditionally 4.8mm (3/16") and 6.4mm (1/4") for structural rivets and with an internal mandrel locking feature they provide a vibration resistant joint together with a wide grip range.  As an example, grip range can be effective from 2.0mm all the way through to 16.0mm with a single rivet.

Structural rivets are commonly manufactured in steel or stainless steel in either a domed head or countersunk head style, providing an option for almost any application.

A countersunk head style offers the option of a high strength flush fitting where the fastener can be installed with no projection of the rivet head on the substrate it's fitted to.

A wide range of air operated fastening tools can be adopted for installing structural rivets. In most cases, a change of jaws is all that's required to accomodate the installation of structural rivets.

If you're currently using structural rivets or have a requirement for MONOBOLT® or FARBOLT, call us here at Part-on on 0121 439 7152 to discuss your requirememts.  We hold an extensive range of MONOBOLT®, ex stock along with structural rivet installation tools, including the FAR RAC171 and AVDEL nG2 rivet tools.
