| Setting up your FAR RAC171 |

Safety Advise before set up:

1.       Ensure the FAR RAC171 Is repaired by a trained engineer

2.       Ensure goggles are worn while using the tool

3.       To ‘top up’ the oil always use 32 grade

4.       If the operator obtains oil to any areas of skin please ensure

this area is washed thoroughly with water and alkaline soap

5.       A thorough 6 monthly overall is needed for this tool

6.       When cleaning and/or repairing the tool ensure there is no air

          source connected to the tool

7.       It is recommended a safety balancer is used, this is why there is

a ‘hook’ on the top of the RAC171

8.       Do not forcefully pull the tool from the hose fitting

Using the RAC171:

·         RAC171 is used for rivet diameters 4.8 – 6.4mm in all materials

·         The RAC171 is used for rivet diameter 7.8mm when setting in

          aluminium

Setting up the RAC171:

1.       Ensure the working pressure is 6 BAR, maximum 7 BAR.

2.       Hose diameter must be minimum 8mm ID

3.       Before use ensure the collector bottle is connected to the tool

4.       Screw on the protective bottom to protect the tool if the operator

drops the tool(to help prevent air leaks)

5.       Identify what rivets you wish to use; standard or structural

         (monobolt or hemlok)

Interlocking head

Interlocking head

Fixes two pieces of metal together

Surrations on the head of the rivet pulls the rivet into the head to create mechanical interlock

High resistance to mechanical loads. They're extensively used in automotive, fencing and commercial vehicle industries. Resistance to water ingress, a wide grip range and internal pin locking mechanism.

Not a mechanical hold

6.       The tool is already set up to set a standard rivet(4.8mm)

7.       Notice: ensure the correct nose is used for the correct rivet

otherwise this causes costly jamming(for example a 6.4 rivet

should be used for a 6.4 nose piece)

8.       If using structural rivets the jaws, jaw cases and nose pieces

needs changing as shown In the above video

·         This should be 7mm
